Tennis Academy / Levels of Play

Levels of Play

Players that are new to The MAC, East Hills or Orchard Hills lesson programs should call for an evaluation. Call Brian Hodge (224-8704 ext. 210), David Brouwer (224-5444 ext. 218), or Mike Lawton (956-8003 ext. 248) to be evaluated. This academy is not for beginner tennis players.

Tournament Rookies:
These players can already lay a match and are competing with other players or playing novice tournaments. Rallying and consistency skills are important skills to master for this level. If your child has not participated in an East Hills or MAC Rookies program, please check with a tennis professional to insure that they are ready for the academy.

Tournament Team:
These players are typically playing tournaments and may compete on a school team. They are working on adding offensive skills to their games. Most of these players are also seeking USTA rankings.

Tournament Elite:
These players are already playing many USTA tournaments and most have a district or higher level ranking. The strongest players in this group would be college players or nationally ranked juniors. This is a co-ed academy and all levels of play run at the same time and have a head pro in charge of them. The coaching staff reserves the right to reclassify any players they deem necessary.

For information on younger Juniors programs for beginning players, please contact David Brouwer at 224-5444 ext. 218.
